The Hotel Derby Eiffel is located close to the famous esplanade of the Trocadero (or Human Rights Place) and the «Palais de Chaillot».
Built for the 1937 World Exposition on the old place of the «Palais du Trocadero» who has conserved a part of the structure and foundations, the «Palais de Chaillot» is split in two pavilions and symmetrically curved wings that surround the Trocadero esplanade. It is the work of architects Azéma, Boileau and Carlu.
The the Trocadero’ place offers undoubtedly one of the most iconic views of the capital of the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero gardens.
Under this great court which was adopted 10 December 1948 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which will then give his name for the Human’s Rights Place.
The Palais de Chaillot houses museums and prestigious institutions today. Indeed, the wing of Passy (West) hosts both the Museum of Man and the National Maritime Museum and the wing of Paris (East) hosts the City of Architecture and Heritage and the National Theatre of Chaillot .
The Museum of Man, which opened in 1938, succeeded the Trocadero Museum of Ethnology founded in 1882.
