November is a month we like on avenue Duquesne. The Champ de Mars empties a little, museum queues shorten on weekdays, and night falls early enough to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle before dinner.
Dates to note in November 2026

Early November: two public holidays
All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday in 2026 and 11 November on a Wednesday. Many local shops close and the big sites get busier. Keep those days for walking, for example the Left Bank quays between the Pont de l'Alma and the musée d'Orsay.
Mid-November: Paris Photo
Paris Photo runs at the Grand Palais from 12 to 15 November 2026, with around 250 exhibitors per Artprice. Tickets are listed at €36-41. From us, walk across the Esplanade des Invalides and the Pont Alexandre III.
Third Thursday: Beaujolais nouveau
Beaujolais nouveau goes on sale from the third Thursday of November: Thursday 19 November 2026. For a quieter drink, our speakeasy-style bar serves classic cocktails and chef-driven food.
Late November: the festive season starts
Christmas markets, the Champs-Élysées lights, the department store windows and the Grand Palais ice rink arrive at the end of the month. We keep the dates on separate pages.
Any day: the 7th's museums
Orsay is busiest, so go at opening or on a late evening. The musée Rodin pairs with the Invalides in one morning. On a rainy day with children, the Sewer Museum by the Pont de l'Alma opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm, free under 18.
Evenings: the Eiffel Tower, earlier
The tower sparkles for five minutes at the start of every hour after dark, and in November dark comes in late afternoon. The Champ de Mars is the easiest viewpoint from us.
Saturday morning: rue Cler
Rue Cler, a pedestrian street of food shops, stays lively in November; the Saxe-Breteuil market completes the morning.
