Our simple advice: read that page in the first days of December, because the evening's content changes from year to year and we prefer to point you to the official source rather than promise a program.
What to remember if you are unsure: it is free, it is outdoors, and it takes place on the right bank. From our location in the 7th, you therefore need to cross the Seine and plan your return. Give yourself plenty of room, especially if you are with children or dislike crowds.
The illuminations, before the 31st
If you arrive earlier, the show is already in place. The Champs‑Élysées are illuminated from mid‑November 2026 to early January 2027, every evening from 5 p.m. It is a one‑hour walk, free as well, and noticeably quieter on a Tuesday in December than on the 31st evening.
Frankly: if your stay only leaves you one evening on this avenue, take one before the New Year's Eve rather than the night itself. You will see the same thing, with room to walk.
Staying on the left bank on New Year's Eve
The other way to spend the evening, chosen by many of our guests, is not to cross at all. We are at 5 avenue Duquesne, in the 7th, next to the Invalides, in the Eiffel Tower district.
At our place, the evening happens at the bar. It is a speakeasy‑style bar, discreet, with classic cocktails and cuisine signed by our chef, in a lounge‑like atmosphere. To be clear about what it is not: it is not a party hall, there is no dance floor, and we do not sell a themed evening. It is a well‑made drink in a quiet setting, exactly what some look for on the 31st evening. To know the service hours that night, ask reception: they vary by period.
Rooms that make a difference that night
Several of our rooms overlook the Eiffel Tower, and it is the only night of the year we truly recommend taking one rather than saving money.
The Junior Suite with view is 28 m², with a sitting area and a workspace. The sitting area is what matters here: for two or three people, you sit facing the window instead of staying in bed. The Double with view is a superior room, queen‑size bed, air‑conditioning, Eiffel Tower view. The Triple serves families and small groups who prefer to stay together for the midnight moment.
January 1
Keep the morning free and plan nothing before noon. We serve a buffet breakfast in our breakfast room; for the exact schedule on January 1, confirm with reception the day before, as holidays do not always follow the usual rhythm. Check‑out is at 11 a.m., so if you leave on the 1st, pack your bags on the 31st before you go out. You will thank us.
For the day itself, we recommend a walk rather than a museum: many establishments are closed on January 1, and checking hours the day before avoids a pointless round‑trip.
Booking for New Year's Eve
One recommendation from us: act early, especially for rooms with a view, which are limited in number. If you want a specific night and a specific category, write to us or book online rather than waiting until mid‑December.
