The Salon du Cheval de Paris returns from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. From our hotel on avenue Duquesne, you can get there by metro with a single connection: line 13 to Montparnasse-Bienvenüe, then line 12 to Porte de Versailles. Here is what we know about the show, the route we recommend, and what is happening at the same venue the following week.
Dates and venue
The show opens on Friday, December 4 and closes on Sunday, December 6, 2026. It takes place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the exhibition center in the 15th arrondissement, whose main entrance faces place de la Porte-de-Versailles, at the intersection of boulevards Lefebvre and Victor.
A detail that matters: the complex stretches on both sides of the boulevard périphérique, from porte d'Issy to porte de la Plaine. It is the second-largest exhibition center in France, after Paris-Nord Villepinte. We therefore advise you to check which hall is listed on the show's official website, salon-cheval.fr, before you leave, rather than trying to find it once you arrive. Opening hours and ticket prices are published in the same place; we prefer to direct you there rather than copy figures that may change.
What to see
The Salon du Cheval is for those who ride, or who would like to ride. You can discover equestrian disciplines, watch competitions and shows, meet professionals, and gear up with the exhibitors.
Show jumping is the sporting highlight of the weekend. In the evening, two events are on the program: the Nuit du Cheval and the Nuit du Complet. If you are only in Paris for one evening, we would aim for one of these two. Check the show's website to see if they require a separate ticket.
Our tip for the day: save your shopping for the end. Bags get heavy quickly, and you have a connection to make on the way back.
How to get there from avenue Duquesne
The simplest route from our hotel is line 13 then line 12, with a single connection.
- Line 13 at Saint-François-Xavier: this is the station that serves avenue Duquesne. Take it in the direction of Montparnasse: Duroc, then Montparnasse-Bienvenüe.
- Connection at Montparnasse-Bienvenüe: the station combines lines 4, 6, 12, and 13. Follow signs for line 12, in the direction of Falguière.
- Line 12 to Porte de Versailles: the station is just after Convention. It carries the subtitle Parc des Expositions de Paris.
The entire journey is in zone 1: a standard metro ticket is all you need. At Porte de Versailles, you will also find tramways T2 and T3a and bus 80, useful if you are heading to another neighborhood.
A point to note if you are traveling with a heavy stroller or in a wheelchair: neither Montparnasse-Bienvenüe station nor Porte de Versailles station is listed as accessible. In that case, please ask us, and we will look into an alternative with you.
For other stations near our hotel, our page on avenue Duquesne and its metro details what serves the street.
Staying in the 7th during the show
We are at 5 avenue Duquesne, in the 7th arrondissement. Our avenue starts at place de l'École-Militaire, at the end of the Champ de Mars. Staying with us rather than at Porte de Versailles means accepting a metro journey with a connection in exchange for evenings spent in the neighborhood of the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, rather than along the ring road.
On the practical side, rooms are available from 3:00 p.m. and must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. On Sunday, December 6, you can therefore check out in the morning and spend the day at the show. In the morning, breakfast is served in our breakfast room. In the evening, our bar, discreet and in the speakeasy spirit, serves classic cocktails: a way to end the day without taking the metro again.
If you are two riders who do not share a bed, our Twin Room has two separate beds. For three, or for a family, we have our Triple Room.
The following week, same venue: Vignerons Indépendants
The Salon des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants occupies Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from Thursday, December 10 to Sunday, December 13, 2026, in Hall 7.2. You can meet the winemakers, taste their cuvées, and buy directly from the producers. If you are staying in Paris until mid-December, it is exactly the same route from our hotel: line 13, then line 12.
